IT’S NO SECRET, that like everybody else, Nadine Coyle is a huge fan of Derry Girls.

While speaking to The Irish Daily Star she revealed that she’s been in contact with the show’s writer Lisa McGee about participating in the next series. She was asked if she’d like a role in series two of Derry Girls, and responded:

Yes, I’m going to speak to the writer about that. I’m going to call Lisa today actually, we’re sorting something out for the next series.

This is beyond perfect. Who could she play? A teacher? Maybe Michelle’s cool older sister who buys her drink? A girl who lost her passport? The possibilities are truly endless. What makes it even better is that Nadine has a proper connection to the show already.

It’s based on the same school I went to, the same Catholic school, so we have loads of similar experiences. I loved the first series, so I’d love to do something for the second.

On top of all of that, back in December, Galway actress Nicola Coughlan revealed that she perfected her Derry accent by watching Nadine Coyle videos on Youtube. At a press screening, Coughlan told the audience “My main source of help was Nadine Coyle.”

Nicola, you’re probably not the only one. Many of us have sat at our computers watching the legendary passport video while repeating the line “fufteenth of the sixth, eighty-fayve. Making me a Geminaye.”
